Sarah Mapurisa

Sarah serves as our founder and overseeS ALL VOLUNTEER WORK IN ZIMBABWE. She moved to zimbabwe in 2019 to begin hdz as well as marry her, now husband, casper. Sarah was raised in chattanooga, Tn and graduated FROM Tennessee tech with her bachelors degree in the science of teaching. She is wife to casper and mother to Junior, ruva, and muna. Sarah has a heart for orphans and widows and seeks to empower them to succeed in their own country as well as ensure they have heard the gospel and helping them grow in their relationship with him.

Casper was born and raised in bulawayo, zimbabwe and senses a strong calling to serve the young people of his own cultural. He does this through another mission organization, but also helps with the everyday running and errands of HDZ when he is available. he also plays a major role in cultural relationships to ensure, that as an organization we are building each other up, no matter our cultural backgrounds.

Bekezela was born and raised in bulawayo, zimbabwe. She is a firm believer in jesus christ and has a heart for sharing the gospel with orphans and equipping them for life outside of the orphanage. Bekezela will serve as our house mother in our first hope dwells home for girls. bekezela has been a partner in our ministry for three years and is a loyal partner, but also a loving friend.

Junior serves as what we like to call our "catch all." what this means is he does a little bit of everything! he helps manage finances, run errands, but more importantly, he is a faithful servant to christ. junior became a part of the mapurisa family in 2020 after growing up in an orphanage. because of this, he is able to provide a unique perspective to our ministry that seeks to serve orphans. His heart for those who feel lost and unwanted is something to be admired. junior is in school to be a local safari guide as he loves animals and history, but serves with hdz in his free time!

BESTER, OR MADUBE, AS WE CALL HER, IS A LONGTIME FRIEND AND FELLOW CHURCH MEMBER OF CASPER AND SARAH. SHE HAS SERVED ALONGSIDE US SINCE THE BEGINNING OF HDZ. NOW, SHE IS A RETIRED GOGO (GRANDMOTHER), BUT STILL SEEKS TO SERVE THE LORD IN THIS NEXT SEASON OF HER LIFE. MADUBE HAS WORKED IN ORPHAN CARE THE MAJORITY OF HER ADULT LIFE. THIS MAKES HER INCREDIBLY QUALIFIED TO RECOGNIZE AND BE AWARE OF CHALLENGES ORPHANS FACE AND DIRECT US IN HOW TO PRAY FOR THEM. SHE IS A MIGHTY WOMAN OF GOD AND WE ARE GRATEFUL TO HAVE HER AS OUR DESIGNATED PRAYER WARRIOR THAT LEADS OUR BI-WEEKLY PRAYER MEETINGS.

Hope Dwells zimbabwe is maintained by a board of members who serve as the elders of lookout valley baptist church. our other ceo's are wade casey and angela smith. hope dwells zimbabwe is a registered non-profit 501-c3 in the state of tennessee.
