one area of ministry that our founder also has a heart for is teaching children the truths of the bible . as she went to school to be a teacher, her heart not only grew for children to get an academic education, but a biblical education.
In zimbabwe, the prosperity Gospel, a Gospel that says your money is what saves you, runs rampant to the benefit of ungodly men taking advantage of the desperation of the vulnerable. To battle this, we follow the model of many Godly leaders who preach the Bible by using what is called the expository method. This means that they study a book or text verse by verse, not skipping over the difficult passages. If this is what we believe to be a defining factor of a Bible-believing leader and church, why are we not introducing this way of teaching to our children to help them determine who is simply taking advantage of them or leading them to Christ? It is important to teach the basic Bible stories, but this can be done alongside always pointing to Jesus and pointing them to each verse of the story. Sarah and small team of Zimbabweans write this type of curriculum for the Zimbabwean church context using examples both a child from the city or a rural area can relate to in aim to provide clarity americanized examples cannot. But the main goal of this ministry is to show every child who hears it, that every story in the Bible is pointing to Jesus as our Savior! This resource is completely free to any local church who request it. This curriculum is primarily written and made for short Bible clubs that can be lead by either the local church or international teams in order to draw kids in the community to churches who will actually care for them and not take advantage of them. |
