Hope Dwells Zimbabwe is powered by a team of local leaders, mentors, caregivers and volunteers committed to sharing the love of Christ through practical support, discipleship and community outreach.

Rachel Zhakata
Director of Programs
Born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe, Rachel is a qualified social worker and University of Zimbabwe graduate with a heart for empowering girls through ministry and her Girl Guides group. Since coming to faith in 2016, she has sought to reflect Christ in all she does. Outside of ministry, Rachel enjoys reading, pasta, and anything sweet!
Casper Mapurisa
Cultural Consultant
Born and raised in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Casper is passionate about serving the young people in his community. Alongside his involvement in student ministry at his local church, he supports the work of Hope Dwells Zimbabwe wherever needed. As Cultural Consultant, he helps build meaningful cross-cultural relationships, ensuring the ministry serves with unity, understanding, and the love of Christ.

Bekezela Mathe
Family Manager
Born and raised in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Bekezela has a heart for sharing the Gospel and mentoring young women to live with faith, dignity, and purpose. As House Mother at Hope Dwells Homes, she lovingly cares for the girls while faithfully serving alongside our ministry as a trusted partner and friend.
Junior Moyo ( Mapurisa)
Ministry Support
Junior is what we like to call our “catch-all”, always willing to help wherever he’s needed! After growing up in an orphanage, he became part of the Mapurisa family in 2020 and brings a unique perspective to our ministry. He has a heart for young people who feel lost and unwanted and faithfully serves Christ through Hope Dwells in his free time while studying to become a local safari guide.
Bester Mutumbi
Relief Mother
Bester, affectionately known as MaDube, is a longtime friend, mentor, and faithful partner who has served alongside Hope Dwells since the very beginning. After many years working in orphan care, she brings invaluable wisdom and compassion to our ministry. A mighty woman of God, MaDube faithfully leads our bi-weekly prayer meetings and encourages us with her heart for the Lord and for young women facing difficult circumstances.
Vimbai Mkhosana
Informed Living Course Instructor
Vimbai is passionate about walking alongside young women as they discover their identity in Christ and prepare for a hopeful future. Through life skills training, biblical discipleship, and practical guidance, she encourages each young woman to grow in faith, confidence, and purpose while equipping them to thrive within their families and communities.
